How to Get Married in Savannah
You’re going to need some legal documents to get married in Savannah. A marriage license can be obtained from the county. Both parties must be present, and the fee is $66. The license is good for six months and there is no waiting period to receive the document.
If you’re going to get married in a public outdoor space, like any one of the Savannah squares or on the beach, you will likely need a permit. You won’t need a permit for the squares if your wedding party is under 20 people, if you aren’t setting up any chairs, tables, tents, etc. and if you don’t want to keep people out of the area where you’re getting married.
The Best Time to Get Married in Savannah
The most popular time to get married in Savannah is in the Fall, with wedding season peaking in October. If you’re planning a wedding around this time, make sure to book far enough in advance. Likewise, if you’re hoping for a Spring wedding keep in mind, March is the busiest months in Savannah for tourism. Most of the squares are crowded with St Patrick’s Day regalia and crowds.
Weather-wise, Savannah is warm much of the year and rarely sees snow. Hurricane season begins in the summer and can last till November, with a higher chance of rainfall and thunderstorms. Actual hurricanes are extremely rare in Savannah.
